Sexually Transmitted Infections

If you have a new partner it is advisable to routinely have a check in 2 weeks time. If you have any of the symptoms mentioned below at any time please have yourself checked for a sexually transmitted infection:

  • A discharge from the penis or vagina
  • Pain passing urine
  • Pain in the lower stomach or genitals
  • Lumps or swelling in the genital area
  • Genital sores or ulcers
  • Genital rashes
  • Anal symptoms relating to sexual intercourse

If you are under 22 years of age there is usually no charge due to Procare's Under 22 health programme

If you are unable to visit us, Auckland Sexual Health Services conduct a confidential free sexual health check. Their FACTSHEETS give very valuable information which you can download from their web site.
