Ingrown Toe Nail

Ingrown toe nails are common and very painful. The sides of the nail grow into the toe thereby causing pain and infection

To effectively treat this the toe needs to be numbed, the nail slither on either side removed and the growing part of the nail cut out (nail bed matrix excision) to stop growing on the sides again. This is a very successful procedure and relatively painless which can be done at Eastmed Doctors.

For prevention you should select a shoe with a wide toe box. When clipping the nail you should not go into the corner but rather cut them straight. If you have difficulty trimming nails properly you will need to visit the Podiatrist.
